Drawing the Right Traffic to Your Website

E-Business is not about having everything under the sun reading your offers, and then trying selling to them later on, whereas “50,000 Visits per Day” registered by your tiny site counter is nothing but “jack” if almost none of them buy something. The quality of traffic matters more than the quantity.

This very realization has led to Ammar Tahir asking this question.

Here is Ammar Tahir …. I love the article about ethics, which is undoubtedly an integral portion of any super-successful business strategy. I am submitting a marketing question which is as follows: What ten best, proven strategy ideas do you have to bring long-term qualified traffic to the website?

Excellent question, and one that every e-business owner “out there” is thinking about.

I know you might be more interested in the actual “tactics” to implement rather than taking a step back and reorganizing. We shall get into those tactics a bit later, but first things first.

The one thing you need to figure out is how to keep your mind on the target. When you come into an e-business, you have an assignment: find out what people want and need and then come up with a business to answer those demands.
You can’t serve everyone. It doesn’t work. To build your company, you have to become the go-to person” for one or more overlapping needs or wants.

You’ll discover that you’re not throwing a ton of cash at traffic-generating schemes in the hopes of convincing “someone” to make a purchase. With a clearer understanding of their whereabouts, you’ll be able to allocate your budget and marketing methods more proactively. Moving from a mass marketing approach to a targeted approach results in a significant difference in terms of marketing budgets and success rates.

Return to your website, and look at it from a visitor’s perspective. Then, after a simple exercise, you would always get many clues on what should be changed to make customers buy and buy more.

Consequently, what gets targeted and consistent traffic firstly is having focus; and staying away from trying to please everybody. Please a certain market with your requirements and desires, not the general public. After you understand your target market and what they wish for, the following become very effective under certain marketing strategies.

1. List building

I’ve been harping on at this for some time now. And that is the requirement for you to have your list—or lists—here at Reqall. It is an independent list, certainly not dependent on your affiliate schemes. That being so, naturally your lists get more concentrated when you have a goal in mind. Instead of having a list of freebie seekers, who don’t know what they want or need, you’re going to have a list of people who demand and need your product and service. Make sense? You should have more than one list for your company.

You should have specific sales-based lists of specific goods and services you provide along with some generalists, like a newsletter subscriber list. The general application assumes that the consumers in the health and nutrition sector become quite targeted to some specific products when you have more than one product to sell. This also applies if you sell multiple products. Then you can analyze it to create focused lists with it and take proper action. Now this part is CRUCIAL, as I mentioned. The list-creation process is based on your research; you will be able to target the people who are asking for your services or products.

2. Marketing

While finding who wants what you have and who your niche market is, you also find out where they hang out. It’s a whole lot easier for you when you know what discussion boards and newsletters they associate with. Again, this saves you when you target your marketing, and you are sending out newsletters that speak to your target market rather than the general public. Here’s a perfect example.

Digital Dose offers copywriting marketing strategies directed at online business owners. My target for Digital Dose is business owners. I can’t even begin to count how many classified ads I receive from sellers, including dietary and health supplements. An H&R product seller will only target customers with the thought of medical conditions in mind. Even if I know there are e-business owners who have health issues, their mindset will not allow them to read about it in a marketing message. They want help with their business. If this guy selling all this stuff had mailed to a newsletter targeted at Health-related topics, he would have gotten an infinitely better response.

Your ads MUST be targeted to the newsletter hosting them. If you are promoting health products, use a health newsletter. If you are building your multilevel downline, use a business newsletter. Another form of advertising that will bring in long-term targeted customers is worthwhile. Instead, lead them to a free eReport, eBook, or eCourse that’s relevant and related to your purpose or niche. After all, you are shooting yourself in the foot by not having a list.

You want the visitor’s name and e-mail address; you don’t want them to visit your site, take a look around, and then be concerned enough to bookmark you so they can return. They don’t want to. Allow me to illustrate. In Mariangie’s case, who is promoting telecommunications equipment? Instead of just an ordinary classified that tells readers to visit her website, she writes a free how-to eReport like how to lower your monthly cell phone bills—very topical on how people buying smartphones can get gouged—and writes a classified to run that promotes the how-to. BINGO, she now has the name and email address of someone needing to cut costs on their mobile bill.

Then, you will be so much more successful if you are marketing to a warm human being and not a ghost.
See how that works? So, make sure the theme of the subject in your newsletters is of major concern to your target market. Also, lead readers by hand to a report or some other list-building resource that has one theme in common.

3. Articles

I really can’t say enough about how helpful writing articles has been for my businesses. Articles Are Everything! You are in the spotlight and also the life of the party for one publication.
Writing articles about your company gives you an image of authority and is an excellent way to foster a relationship and a reputation of trust.

How magazines and Ads are aimed at consumers is very like what we brought up.

Find out where the newsletters he reads are, then write quality, informative pieces that “speak to him.” Once you start teaching something of value, readers will come to you; they’ll gobble up your reports and courses — and spread the word about you. I know that many of you believe you are not good writers, so will not write an essay. “Don’t eat that Martha, it’s ca !” Anyone can write a basic “how to” article. Just set yourself up with an outline so that you can keep your thoughts organized, and then take your “how to” method and write it in steps for others to follow. END.

Not only can articles subtly advertise you and your website, but the Resource Box also gives you access to the newsletter’s PRIMO classified ad space. See, readers will read your piece, take in what you have to offer, and then look up the author. Since that is effectively your advertisement, that is where the resource box comes into play. There they find the author of the article, your site’s URL, and of course, a reason to have them sign up for YOUR LIST—a free report, of course. Remember, ONE article can reach more people than you could imagine.

You submit that SAME material to all kinds of publishers in your TARGET MARKET, and you’re reaching hundreds of thousands of people, not just ONE newsletter. The great thing about using articles is, of course, you don’t have to pay for it, except for the little time investment it takes to turn your information into hard copy—or disk.

4. Create Info Products Of Your Own

In other words, instead of renting somebody else’s info product, you can easily create your own and make the most out of it. Creating your oBook, eCourse, or eReport gives you AWESOME BENEFITS. You can use your own experience in creating a product and then use other people to sell it for you. Another aspect of writing articles is that you can reach a lot more different people than you can imagine.

If you are that afraid of your total idea, to write your information product yourself, then please don’t be that scared.
It is quite easy, if you write some articles, to turn a series of them with just some formatting changes into a report or course.
You do have a choice, though, if that still makes you feel like a deer caught in headlights. When using info products for marketing, always select the rights to reprint or rebrand the product.

Why? Well, you use these products to SUPPORT YOUR marketing, as I said earlier. Yes, the course you are send­ing wasn’t writ­ten by you, but it does con­tain your links and adver­tise­ments. Because your adver­tis­ing appears through­out the course, not some­body else’s, those that sub­scribe via your web form will always know who sent them the course. Putting a lot of effort into mar­ket­ing a course and then not hav­ing your infor­ma­tion some­place inside doesn’t make sense.

Why are you going to all that trouble to torture yourself in such a way? If you’re going to help sell a product, make sure the product developer at a minimum puts your name in the thing with references to your squeeze list. Let other people spread YOUR COPY around and use their exertions to promote it, as long as the licensing allows it. But DON’T permit anyone to ride your coattails for free.

Can you visualize that?

To offer customers options, I offer a customizing license in addition to an eCourse. Whether you choose to purchase the license or not doesn’t faze me, the author–it is still a win-win situation. They are content because now they can utilize my course to enhance their list. By that logic, anyway I win because I am using their marketing efforts since all of my links and ads are still up. After all, they will not buy the license to customize.

In the long run, it was only $6.95 the course flipped the table right back at them, so to speak—if they took the time to figure out how this works and what they can do to flip it around a little. Throughout the program, they will continue to be able to use the course as a vehicle for building their list and driving up their traffic by making daily offers of their own. Even better, they had just “flipped the switch” once more by taking the work of the people using the course by giving THEIR A CUSTOMIZED version of it available to others to use for their list building.

I know that online business entrepreneurs have undergone a lot of adversity and have been disappointed by products and/or services that were supposedly ‘the next best thing to the moon.’ I understand where you’re coming from when you’re a little hesitant to buy. But Ddoesn’tBE. At least not in this instance. Still, investing in an eCourse or eReport customization license which gives you that high of a potential upside return is just plain smart business. Okay, let’s review the four tools that will help you in drawing the right traffic.

Then, Huzaifa asked a question other than that which contained the wording “long term.” It stands to reason that long-term benefits will accrue if you continue to write articles, create new information goods, or at least make the most of the ones that are already available by employing classified advertising.

To properly implement any of this, you DO NOT need a marketing degree and this is not rocket science. All you need to be is persistent and consistent. Any e-business owner should start with a platform or marketing plan. These four sure methods will no doubt give you a solid platform. Beyond that, look at other methods, such as pay-per-click search engines, and test them once you have them in place and working for you.

What I am trying to emphasize is that if you start with those four strategies mentioned above, they will always work. Keep adding a new strategy on the go, checking them, and working them in if they are effective. The results may take some time and work to appear, but perseverance and persistence will pay.
